Just about one year old.
It's normal, and he'll be good on biscuits.
Some people claim they've stopped it, or cured it.
I never was able to, and have had a couple of them hurt me pretty good. RIR and Barred Rocks are notorious for it.
They will hide under something, run out and attack suddenly. Planned it. Got me carrying a pail of feed in one hand and a pail of water in the other. One got me in the hand, another one another year got me in the leg. Nasty gash, lots of blood. Hurt too badly to take care of the rooster.
But I had a neighbor who was happy to stop over to collect a free meal along about dark. Doesn't take much effort to punch buttons on the phone.
Or else you can just put him outside the pen, and leave him there, especially all night.
Do NOT put your head down and pet the hens with him around. He WILL go for your eyes and face!
Sorry, some of them just do turn into thugs at that age.

I have a Buff Orpington Rooster just about a year old that has started to attack me when I go in to feed them. The ladies like to be petted and I do that but He gots very angry when I go in the coop. Is this a normal behavior or is there something I can do?
