[CHICKENS-101] Retraining to return to coop

 

I am trying to retrain my flock to return to the coop at night. They were completely free range with feed available.
What I have tried so far: I kept them locked in the coop for a week (of course with a full feeder). Now, I am letting the out around 12:00-12:30 (I have some late layers) and then calling them in with feed and scratch about a hour before dusk. I would prefer to leave layer pellets in a 30# feeder all day and call them in with a little scratch, but I have found when leaving the feeder out all day they won't come when called because they are stuffed. Any suggestions to get them to return to the coop?
