I need some advice. I have an EE that lays the most beautiful blue eggs. About every 3rd egg she lays is bloody on the shell. This has caused some pecking and once was eaten by the others. I've gotten in the habit of checking everyday at the same time looking for her egg shortly after she lays to avoid the pecking, let alone the cannibalizing. So far it's working, but I wonder why she is bleeding. She doesn't have a prolapsed cloaca and I don't see any blood anywhere else but on the egg.
Thoughts?
