We stopped at our local TSC Thursday to see what they had... junk. Four, maybe five, whole livestock tanks FILLED with Golden Comets - yuck. Seriously? A few hundred of the exact same kind??? One tank of ducklings. And one tank of "assorted" Bantams.
Wow. What a crappy selection. I have NO interest in their hybrids. Absolutely everything else is special order, with no guarantees of availability. Blech!
I did get 9 Bantams to appease my husband who thought having some smaller chickens might be nice, but have NO idea what we got, and the sales people didn't have a clue either.
One of my coworkers sent her husband someplace else to get chicks for her kids to raise... whatever they went to get wasn't available, so they ordered some, but don't know if they'll get them.
Have debated on going up to the Hillsdale market next Saturday to see if anyone else has any type of normal breed... amazing how difficult it is to find Buff Orpingtons. LOL!
