Bill, The chick's egg shell could have caught on the membrane and when tugged on by walking pulled part of it's guts out. Or a toe could have caught on the placenta and pulled out it's guts. It is and isn't common. I'd put blood stop on the guts to dry them up, then when it is a dry clump up to the placenta area trim it off. Then the chick can go back in with the other chicks. Until then keep your chick separate so the other chicks do not turn cannibalistic on it. Your chick should be ok, no guarantee, most likely it will grow up and be fine. Cath
