Yeah and cat bites are even worst.
The neighbor cat is the one who killed my blind rooster so even if they aren't yours, cats can wreak havoc on your flock if they have a mind to. I think again it is all in the training.
I have two cattle dogs in my boarding kennel right now and they are very well mannered but I sure wouldn't put them out with the chickens. Well, today my two little bantam cochin hens thought, well why not? They jumped over their gate and into the yard with the dogs. The larger of the two headed right for the hens and I yelled no!!!!! and the dog stopped on a dime and headed the other direction. The second one did too. Just goes to show these dogs are trained and know what no means. Training is all powerful.
