Ok Erin: Be patient, sometimes depending on when the eggs germinated it will take longer it may take 48 hours or more the hatch a cluch of eggs. If a majority hatch a once the hen may abandon the rest. I have had a hen successfully brood 9 chicks. Once I brought the hen and all her chicks, bantam OEGs, into the kitchen. They lived in a big box for a several weeks until the DW issued an ultimatum, "OUT". Th last bunch of Ameraucana were hatched by Silkies. I let each of the hens keep one chick and brought the rest into the house for 2 weeks. Once the got started they did fine back in the barn with a heat lamp. Interestingly they are larger and more active than those that were left with the hens. I lost two chick being brooded by the hens, one to a accident early on and another two week old it was never right. The poor hen is still looking for it 3 days later. I let her stay with Ugly, he's not to pleased with that arrangement. You can see pictures of them in my album.
