Re: [CHICKENS-101] why vegan?

Chickens that are fed only a vegan diet are malnourished. It is unnatural and does not provide what a chicken needs for proper growth, health, and egg production. Chickens are NOT herbivores. They are onnivorous by nature and left to their own devices will eat almost anything that doesn't eat them first.

Subject: [CHICKENS-101] why vegan?

Ok. I am reading with
great interest all of the posts. Funny thing is, I think it creates more
questions than answers!! But that's ok. I need to learn this stuff!
Question for today: I
see where Deb posted yesterday about the white yoke. She made a point is saying
that the eggs she bought were from vegan chickens. I have also see ads on TV
from chicken producers making a point in saying that thier chickens are only fed
fruits and veggies. Why is this important? Chickens aren't by nature vegan!
Thanks!
