I so agree with you. I had a rooster that was horrible on the hens, I saw him sitting 2 feet up on a perch and jumping down on unsuspecting hens, he would be the first to get out in the morning and then he would grab as many hens as he could as they were trying to go outside, which of course they hesitated and actually gave him more opportunities because they came out slowly one by one. When I put chicken saddles on them to protect their backs, he quickly learned he could grab those saddles to get a hold of them. He would chase a hen that tried to get away from him all over the place. I saw no point in letting this go on and re-homed him. He went to a place with more hens and larger area and the hens I was told were lighter built and fast and good flyers, last I heard everybody was happy.

I would love to have one like that, I miss the beauty of a rooster and the crowing
