            Wow, sorry to hear about your accident and broken leg!  Where are you in VA?  I am near Lake Anna State Park in Spotsylvania, which is the southernmost “Northern VA” county---although I consider us more “Central” given we have acreage, farmland and are zone Agricultural. 

 

            Hope your leg heals quickly and completely!

I am checking in from Virginia. We had power back by morning, phone back by the next day and internet did not come back till today.

 

My 13 chickens weathered the storm okay. We lost a few trees in the woods and lots of branches and leaves down.

I'll tell you, if a storm like that hit when the chickens were out, I am sure some would have been lost. That wind was crazy strong!

 

I hope to post more regularly as time goes on. I got the chickens with the house we bought, but the day after we closed I fell and broke my leg. The broken leg won't let me get to the chickens, so DH has been taking minimal care of them.

 

Two more weeks till I might be able to start using the leg. Needed surgery and a plate and screws, so can't put any weight on it yet.

 

I enjoy reading the group posts.
