Hi Cathryn,
I did as you suggested - today she got a bit of scrambled egg, apple, some spinach leaves, cracked corn, oatmeal and a bit of a mash I made with ACV, chicken pellets, kelp, molasses...she was most excited about the Ritz crackers and again, the hot dog bun soaked in milk. I got some Durmycin-10 (tetracycline) at Tractor Supply, but she hasn't seemed to drink much of it. No other symptoms than apathy and weight loss. I'm keeping her in the house at night and under a shady tree by the back door during the day. She seems most happy to hang out in the shade, but I know she's sick/weak because she doesn't move around much. But this morning she seemed a tad bit more energetic than before, protesting when I picked her up and she actually pecked around the barn a little while I did chores.
Thanks for the advice - is there a better way to get the antibiotic into her? Maybe make it more concentrated and soak bread in it? I feel like I'm shooting in the dark dosage-wise.
Take care,
Alisa
