I'd guess that you right, the skunk thinks my parents are it's pets!  They really get a laugh out of the little creature.  It'll stomp it's feet until they go and get cat food, leftovers, ...something yummy.  While it stomps it's feet, the skunk never turns around to spray.  I'd guess it is telling them treats or else.  One my mother up ended the livetrap and it hung on.  They've had much cautious fun with it. 
I've got to get motivated.  I put in for the heat to be turned on in my classroom today so I can work and not freeze to death.
