Hi Ernie, I am known as Ol' George from New Hampshire. Although I have been raising chickens since the ice age I am still learning. I have, in my short live had many kinds of chickens among all the critters, including grandkids. The project you and your crew have undertaken should return your labor 10 fold in rewards. Should you require any minor assistance don't hesitate to ask. I say minor only because you seem to have the situation well in hand. This group has resources they don't even know about. We have about fifty thousand, four hundred and 88 years of accumulated experience. With you grandson we can add another 10 or 12 years when the project is done.
Right now I have a small flock of Silkies, 2 roosters and 3 hens. You can see them in my photo album. These are pet chickens. For working girls I have 3 two year old Ameraucana hens and a Rooster. I just added 6 Barred Rock pullets to the group.
