“Times are a’changing”………as Dylan so eloquently put it. Times have to change ………population growth has to go somewhere –the land doesn’t expand. Everything is so different. I have to remind myself that the population of our country has increased so dramatically………..we are filling in every empty space we can. The cities are more crowed, more crime, more costly………..and the suburbs are almost NOT sub URBAN………but becoming more city-like as well. The “country” is having to catch the overflow and sadly, there are may urbanites who don’t get it. They don’t appreciate the open spaces or all the other things that come with the country……..they want their convenience stores and traffic lights and everything PAVED.
I hope our area doesn’t see dramatic growth for a long time. I am hoping that the housing market will come back, but not at the rate it was and that people will buy their houses in the suburbs and be happy there. Time will tell.
Our lives have changed dramatically since moving here –we got a phone call at 930 last night from a friend. They shot another deer and did we want the carcass when they finished butchering it? Hells yeah………..those deer have been an excellent source of raw food and rmbs for our dogs. I think this will be the 5th or 6th this year. Saves money! Even better, it means that deer’s life is valued and it’s death wasn’t for naught.
Btw, I am 57…………so no spring chicken, either. I like to think I still have a young attitude about some things………raising kids late in life has kept me abreast of some current events that many my age wouldn’t worry about.
Like you, I wish the changes weren’t so IN OUR FACE……..and I agree, we either go with the flow and or get left behind.

Well folks, I was born and raised in
We left that area in 1968 due to my husbands job and I am now in
I miss those early days terribly but life goes on and change has to take place. My own little town is changing daily, new folks are moving in and we are growing. I hate to see it happen, but life goes on and you have to just adjust or be miserable.
That is the way of things.
