Re: [CHICKENS-101] greens and other yummy things for the Chickens

So far I've just fed them the weeds; tops of beets, carrots, and the like; any damaged corn or green beans; watermelon leftovers; used pumpkins; and of course all the grubs or other bad bugs I find. I have also considered planting kale but I didn't buy seed in time to plant this fall. That was going to be just for the birds.
I haven't thought of anything else.
Hope this gets you started.

Subject: [CHICKENS-101] greens and other yummy things for the Chickens

I was planning next year's garden and was wondering: do any of you plant anything special for your chickens or livestock? I'm not talking about alfalfa or pastures, just a row or two in your family garden with the ladies in mind.

I had heard that Oregano was good for the chickens' digestion but wonder if there is a special variety or other that is better than another?

Opinions? Suggestions? and personal experiences are all welcome!
