SSS the owners?

It is not the dogs fault,he is only going by his instincts, you should go after the owners. Don't they have leash laws in your state, they have in NJ all I have to do, and I never had to, is call animal control and they would be out in a minute to take the dog in. this annoys the owners, they usually take better care of the dog, but if it happens too many times they tale the dog away from the owner. At least that is how I was made to understand it.
Also in my state you cannot just shoot a dog, you can shot a cat, doesn't seem fair a dog is usually more destructive.
But if I lost too many chickens and no one helped me I would employ that SSS rule and so not get caught.

Not to mention, it's cruel to do this. If you're attempting to resolve a loose dog issue, try lawful means first and if that that doesn't work and you must resort to the use of firearms, at least be humane enough to kill rather than wounding.
As someone else posted, 'SSS'...shoot, shovel and shut up.
