Pete -
Thank you so much for your reply!
The new chickas came from a private breeder. Looking back, with hindsight being 20/20, I should have paid more attention to the husbandry...but I digress.
I have been trying to figure out if it is viral or bacterial for a while...the problem is that it shows signs of both. The nasal discharge is thin and clear - like a viral infection, yet a smell accompanies it, more like a bacterial infection. The same chicken can have discharge in the morning, and be clear by nightfal...or the opposite way...clear ad night and discharge/smell by the am! Their signs do not seem to be increasing, though tonight there MAY have been a slight increase in their sneezing....
M. Gallisepticum is the only thing that might fit, yet the chickas are growing well, plumage looks great, they seem to be gaining weight well, active, bright...no rales or rattles, no conjunctival swelling or irritation. I would also expect a bacterial infection to get markedly worse after stopping the Albon, and that didn't happen...so I am at a total loss!
As far as the coccidia, yes I know that *some* is expected, but they had 3+ - 4 is too numerous to count - so it was considered an overgrowth.
Thank you again for your reply!
