Well, I've had chickens for 5 years. I've learned a lot. But The last chick order I did (2010) It kinda did a back roll on what I think. A dog came and killed a bunch of my chicks, than Natural Death came. so It left me with less then 10 chicks. The grew up, Most of them roosters. I sold two of my chickens I bought from a sale 6 months ago. they werent the type I wanted. I got a LOVELY rooster I named timbit, cuz his feathers looked like many different timbits. Than a friend was moving to BC and I got asked to buy the hens off her cuz she needed the money ( this also 2010). so I bought 6 hens off her (2 ameracunas, welsummer, 2 danish leghorn and a barred phymouth rock) and she still needed money and she had two pairs of peafowl and peachicks (Around 5-6 months old) and I offered to buy the three peachicks so I could train them. So after a bit I got offered a rooster for free a cute cohin. He was adorable. My sisters favorite. But he got picked on and ended up died :( so after two months I got offered a ameracuna rooster for $12, So I bought him Thinking build a breeding pen I have a incubator lets get it to use. Than winter hit and killed my poor barred hen :(. Than after a peafowl died after and a rooster. Than this spring I ended up moving out of the place I was living and ended up Homeless and out camping in the mountains. But before I had to get rid of my chickens, So I ended up up giving away my 16 birds plus food bag (Turkey grower) and feeders and waterers. all cost around $200. the lady boarded my two peafowl as well. Then We end up with a house and go to a bird sale and buying a peacock around 2 years old. Than when we went to the ladys place we found out that one of the peafowl (My favorite) died the day after I boarded it. So I'm down to Two birds. THinking on getting peafowl eggs and hatching them.
Well thats my story thanks. :D
