Mother used to use a wire attached to a drill to wisk the egg. It thins the egg and makes blowing much easier. The wire must be small, soft/pliable and maybe 1/3 to 1/2 the length of the egg. If I were doing this for the first time, I would use some eggs to experiment with. That way if the eggs are broken or cracked it is no big deal.
Another thing she would use is some wire or pipe cleaner wire and bend it at a small angle and use the hands to spin the wire. Just place the wire in the palms of the hands and move the hands back and forth to spin the wire.
