[CHICKENS-101] Re: Do chickens mourn?

I am no expert on this but I am thinking it is possible that she or they can be in mourning. I am sure they feel like we do or other animals feel when they loose someone close to them.

The 11 hens still make those chicken sounds like they are busy and happy but, they all but one have stopped laying. They are still eating some but not drinking much water either and I make sure the water is fresh every day. I was just wondering if they are mourning their rooster's death. Any suggestions?
