Re: [CHICKENS-101] pullorum- typhoid testing

Carolyn, Your cockerels and cocks are the foundation of a good breeding program.  I was surprised to learn that some of the pullorum testers here in MI charge 80 and up just for coming out, plus 1.50 a bird tested.  I only help out friends, the MI shows, and myself.  It is too much work and too much of a chance of bringing home and unwanted disease for me to test for strangers.  At least at the shows I can shower in the motel room, put my clothes in plastic bags, and disinfect my shoes there.  Did he charge you or do it for free if you do not mind my asking. Subject: [CHICKENS-101] pullorum- typhoid testing

The young man from the state (of KY) just left. He blood tested 76 chickens today. And it was cold and windy and just plain nasty. Anyway, the chickens are done and clean. After much culling in the last three weeks I still have 16 cockerel/cocks. Carolyn
