I colored some brown and green eggs last week and had great results with vivid jewel colors. Use hot water enough to cover egg and about 2 tablespoons of vinegar added to liquid food coloring or natural dyes such as onion peels, grass, berries, etc. The liquid food coloring works best for me. For an even, overall coloring put the entire egg in the mixture. If you want dark color on light color drop straight food color onto the egg in the mixture where ever you want a bright spot. If you want an egg 1/2 one color and 1/2 another color you have to carefully hold the egg in each color. Mine turned out beautiful. I put the green eggs in green food color bath and they look like big emeralds. Light brown eggs in red are really cool. If you want a tie dye egg, dip white paper towel in the color mix and apply it to the eggs. I leave the color on my eggs about 10 minutes for deep color. You just have to check them often until they get to the color you want. My grandchildren color eggs all year, not just at easter. Experiment and have fun. Susan in Ga,
