I can't hold your bird and see so I can't tell you how far to trim.  I'd start with very sharp toe nail clippers and surgical shears. Trim off a just enough starting off with that she can eat.  You can work on it every week until you can get it back. Cath


What kind of tool would you suggest and how far down?  Where would the blood line be?  We have not wanted to trim her but she has lost more weight than we realized.
