Re: [CHICKENS-101] Broken wing

Jane, You wished you called me and had me come out. Or are the back roads still pretty bad to be traveling on?  Can you put her apron back on and make a strap to hold her wing up so she does not walk on it?   If you do not have a strap, tape it up with cotton medical tape to the height the same as her good wing.  You can always loosen the tape with water when you want it off later.  I have two staff meetings tomorrow, one 6, 7, 8th grade, and one 6th grade only.  But, I can come out afterwards if you need help.  Call me, ok?  Cath

I went out to the coop to find one of my hens with what looks like a broken wing. She drags it on the ground and tries not to step on it. Poor dear. I picked her up and kissed her then tried to place the wing back. She doesn't seem in pain but then, how would one know? She is still Queen Sh-- as she bosses the others around when I gave them popcorn tonight for a treat. Is there anything I can do for her?

Thanks, Jane from snowy Mt. Morris
