A couple of my girls have been acting odd and I've just figured out why--they are crawling with mites, little black ones that get on my arms when I gather the eggs. The girls having trouble have poop caked on their rears and are pretty sluggish--I am really worried.
I cleaned the coop and dusted with diatomaceous earth but clearly it's not enough. Please help, I am not sure what to do with the girls, they seem like they are getting worse. A storm is coming , so the rain isn't going to help, either. I have some sevin powder I can use as well--it's old, butI don't know if it goes bad or not.
Please help--I need step by step instructions on what to do. My other seven girls seem ok at the moment. I don't want to handle them too much until I know exactly what to do 'cause the mites bite me too! FRom the description online, they seem to be the northern poultry mites
thanks!
