Cami, It is was turned inside out the tissues would be red, w/ capillaries, and thin mucus. You can see at the one end that it was connected at some point. It is shaped like an immature fallopian tube, (what ever it is called in a chicken, I am not awake yet.). When you look at the ruler, size, the shape of the tissue, et... it really looks like part of the reproductive system. If a bird's life was at stake I'd lean on my vet friends; I can't use up their goodwill over a non life or death situation. Did you look at the website articles with the pictures? I am so sorry you have Crohns, it's a horrible, painful, disease. Cathryn
I think Cathryn's onto something. I've been looking at it - had my husband look at this morning. I don't want to be graphic, but it looks suspiciously like stuff I poop out...and I have Crohn's. I think something came out of the chicken that maybe shouldn't have. Something turned inside out & was layed.
I would definitely pick up each laying girl & check their vent. Might not be any evidence, but there might be.
