Well, we ate an 8 lb smoked turkey we raised and I am waiting to hear from my friend who bought one of our heritage turkeys that weighed 12 lbs. Our turkey was great. Definitely a doable annual endeavor, although my dh and I need to improve our (s)kills.
We had a large family gathering, so also a spiral sliced ham and no.....we didn't raise the pig, but it was definitely a tasty one!
We had a wonderful day visiting with family and enjoying our bounty! The chickens were in heaven with the scrapings off the plates!
