Patti, Keep putting them in where you want them to roost.  The 3 older hens are higher in the pecking order, thus the younger ones are not going in.  I would not let them out of their pen until all come in and go to roost. Three months is still quite the chick, I would give them plenty of time.

I would just let them figure it out. I assume they are in a chicken house at night and sleeping on the floor rather than the roost?  Make sure they have food and water in the chicken house if they stay in there most of the time. They are probably more comfortable where they are.

I have some girls that I raised from chicks. They're about 3 months old. I put them out in the coop with the 3 big girls about a week ago. No one is getting hurt, thank goodness, but the 3 little ones won't go into the roost at night so we put them up there. They won't come down in the morning. Should I stop worrying and just let them figure it out or what? The last time I integrated new girls it was so easy!!!
