Hi Cathryn,
It was in the early 80s when I was raising poultry. I had not seen a silkie up till that time. A lot of poultry has been bred in several different colors since that time. I live about 7 miles south of Norman which is where the University of Oklahoma is. I live about 30 to 40 miles south of Oklahoma City.
