[CHICKENS-101] Re: Chickens in the cold

I have, over a period of a couple of years, bought (mostly used, from thrift stores) enough metal dog crates and plastic dog traveling kennels that I can bring in my whole flock and stuff them in the laundry room for the night if it gets too cold or if I am having a predator problem that I haven't been able to resolve. I just line the crates/kennels with newspaper and toss it on the compost heap in the morning.

I ALWAYS bring in my roosters, since technically I'm not allowed to have chickens and I don't want to disturb the neighbors with crowing early in the morning.

It's not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters.
