I'm not sure if anyone has answered you question yet but here in Nebraska (and most of everywhere else) we have been getting some really cold temps, and not just at night. I have 12 birds and two heat lamps. This seems to work out well for my girls. They also have a decent sized double coop and a massive run. I would have to know more about you coop set up but what I can say is that we have a very large black wire dog kennel that we use if we need to bring the girls in the garage for the night. If you are in doubt and you have the space in a garage or an extra basement room I would bring them in. We hook up a space heater to warm up the air a bit and they seem perfectly happy for a few nights out of the bitter cold.
