Bruce, I have one too. I'll work as long as every egg has a very strong shell. Butterfly nets sold at dollar stores work great too. I keep several along with the light aluminum hoes.

Thanks to all for the ideas!
After posting my inquiry I came up with another thought. We already have a device called a "Nut Wizard" that we use to harvest black walnuts. It's pricey but has been a real back-saver. I think it could also work for eggs if I pick them up one at a time.
I'll try it and report back to the group.
