I received 25 day-old pullet chicks on Feb 18, mixed breeds of brown egg-layers. As of today, I'd estimate 6-7 birds have begun to lay.
BTW, you can add me to the list of people who are begging to receive precipitation of any kind. We haven't had a drop of rain on our farm for more than 5 weeks, and have been forced to irrigate simply to keep things alive.
