[CHICKENS-101] Clipping wings

 

I have a group of chicks that are now 5 weeks old. How old dingbat need to be to clip their wings? I am going to allow them to roam around in the space we use for our garden. It is fenced with 4 field fencing. I am going to wrap the in side with chicken wire to keep them in and predators out. However I don't want them all over the yard I want them contained to their area so I want to clip their wings. Also how often do themwings need to be clipped. I know you just clip the feathers of one wing and just the flight feathers (the by ones). But I don't want to do it to soon. Thanks for any help with this ou could give.
