Re: [CHICKENS-101] Dying Hens

Coccisidiosis is my guess.  There doesn't have to be blood in their droppings for them to have it. I'd get them on albon-sulfadimethoxine or sulmet asap. Cathryn

Subject: [CHICKENS-101] Dying Hens

Hello Group: Is there any ideas as to why hens would die off but not the roo's? We had about 50 chickens and over the last month to month-and-a-half have lost most of our hens but no or maybe just 1 or 2 roo's. They are 3 1/2 months old. It's been very hot here, but I would think if it were that it would affect both hens and roo's. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Gary, C.F., SC
