Ducks eat poop and take it to the water, and make the water a poopy soup. I would never have my chickens and ducks together. I only have calls and silkies together in a brooder with one brooder leg a bit higher for drainage into a bucket long before calls are ready for water. They'll drown when little so you have to be careful. Cathryn

I have them all together and all has worked out just fine. we dont have a pond in with them but they are out most the day to free range and the ducks get into their kiddie pool or the big pond in the yard
