Re: [CHICKENS-101] I didn't realize ducks could be so LOUD...

Mine would quack loudly when I was feeding them twice a day, coming up onto the deck and quacking at the back door.  Now that I keep food in their bowl all the time they have stopped "yelling" at me that it's dinner time and I should be shaking a leg.

So yes, I would say keep dry food available to them all the time to lessen the 'talking'.

Subject: [CHICKENS-101] I didn't realize ducks could be so LOUD...

Is there anything I can do to keep them a little quieter? I have one that seems to be louder than the others. Are certain breeds more vocal? We live close to our neighbor, not sure why they put their house so close to the property line, but it's there :(. They don't complain, but did say the ducks got a little loud every now and then. They seem to only get noisey when we come out the door. Of course, food shuts them up, so should they have constant access to food? They get feed twice a day and muddle the rest of the day. I had some ducks before, but they were pretty much silent, so I didn't know they could get so loud. Please help me quiet my quackers.
