Marla, Wiring it on is the secret too.  They trip the door when they go to pick up the drum stick.  Most cats are smart and know to step up to but not on the door trip.  Gets them every time.  Bones and the fried skin from KFC gets them every time.  Even fox and wily raccoons. Cathryn

Thanks for the tip Cathryn. I was looking at different live traps this morning at a nearby feed store. Trying to decide if I just needed to try a different trap. I think that you're probably right. I need a different bait. They don't know what canned cat food is. Lol. They get into peoples trash so I'm sure they know about cold partly eaten fried chicken.
