Re: [CHICKENS-101] bad shipped eggs

Cath,

Have you contacted the person you bought them from? Surely they will replace them?

I pondered my situation over several days about what to do, maybe some of you have a good idea for me.  I bought eggs on ebay from a silkie breeder, received eggs with fecal matter on them, and they are no good.  I candled them and could tell right away that they were no good.  Know how you check eggs that have been under a hen for 2 -3 weeks right before a hatch?  The bad eggs slosh all over inside?  The good eggs are solid?  I have bad eggs, not egg cell broken eggs, but bad, old eggs.  They even floated.  I taking them to my vet to have her verify with my egg candler and her sink that I was sent old no good eggs, then I am posting the written note she gives me unless the breeder makes good.  I still can't believe I was sent old eggs with feces on them.  I sure hope the breeder sent me eggs she meant to throw away and that these were not supposed to have been good eggs.  If I had set these dirty eggs, they would have exploded in my chest incubator and killed the eggs from Eric and other people.  I really really want eggs from this breeder from the pictured silkie.  I am so disappointed and unhappy over my $$ wasted.  Cathryn
