[CHICKENS-101] Hi Josh - I'm new to group

Hello - I just bought 2 Rhode Island Reds, 2 Bantams and 2 Americana's. I've had them in the basement with a heating light on them for a little over a week. They are growing fast and I have to replace the box with a bigger one.

My question is this - when do they no longer need the light? I mean, the heat? They were very tiny when I bought them. But I don't know how old they were when I bought them. I've been feeding and watering them at home since April 15th.

They are cute -

Also, I purchased a chicken house and my husband and I are going to insulate it. I painted it too. I'm having fun... but I think I'm allergic to chickens. I have to get them out of the basement because my husband and I are both allergic to feathers.

So I am wondering if I put them in the garage with a light on them - do you think that would be okay? We live in Northern Minnesota.

Mary
