| > It's just not something I'd ever seriously considered using, but what the heck, nothing else has ever worked. I might give it a shot if it gets really bad again. I can't find the page where I first read about it. the product they recommended was Happy Jack ear mite treatment. I looked for that but I couldn't find it locally, so I looked for other products with same ingredients, I had one at home but it was a watery solution, not sure how much it helped, then I got the Biogroom brand and it is thicker so it can be applied and gives you enough time to rub it one the rest of the leg and put over areas that are affected, it may have also the suffocating affect that vaseline would have since it doesn't right away run off or dry. I think the hard part about treating for scaley leg mites is that the results aren't immediate, even with regular application it takes weeks for the bird to have smoother legs again. At least that has been my experience. I hope I can avoid this with preventive treatments. I am trying the Poultry Protector now for prevention, as well as the ivermectin. It's a lot more cost effective than those ear mite treatment products. Less work too. Marlene Nevada, USA |
