George, RIRs aren't all that bad if you understand them. Don't go after the eggs while the hen is sitting on the nest and you won't get bitten. Mine are quite gentle and will eat out of my hand and let me pet them. But if I stick my hand under one that is sitting on a nest she WILL peck me hard.
Cockfighters don't tie razor blades on their roosters legs. Knives that are specially designed for the purpose and are razor sharp used in some areas. Other weapons are used in other places and naked natural spurs are preferred in others.
