Re: [CHICKENS-101] Re: Double Yolk Eggs & Citrus

Ah, Ruth, I use a 'pen system' too.  Mine are the 5X10 foot dog kennels that Tractor Supply sells under the name Doc Bob.  I have 5 of them joined together, so I don't used the roofs that are available, I have that corrugated plastic, weighted down with 2X6's.  Not the best look, I need a better way to keep the roof on!

What colors are your Silkie and Polish?  I have white, red, black, blue, splash, partridge and a white naked neck in Silkie, and wc blue, wc black, bc white, bt red, chocolate and khaki in Polish.

The splash Polish is sitting on 2 eggs of other chickens but I've forgotten whose they are.

Georgia,

I have one pen with Bantams ... Sebright, Feather Feet (I call them), and Americana. 2 had started to leg eggs (like 4 each), but there's been no more eggs from them since Nov. 5th.

Then I have a pen with 3 Polish. The hen just started laying about 2 weeks ago.

A pen with just silkies.

And a 4th pen with an Americana rooster, and various hens ... RIR, silkie/Americana mix, Americana, Wyandotte, Red Star, and a Rock.

My last silkies came sitting on 4 cochin eggs. 2 of the 4 eggs hatched out. So, I'll be needing another pen for them. They are about 7 weeks old now.

Ruth
