You have that issue to? Smacking them upside the head with a newspaper
won't work, Using a straw and blowing it down there throat won't work
either.
I tried to force mine and they quit laying so here's what I did.
I slowly starting adding the new feed to the old feed and mixing it up.
After about the third day (Add joke here that would get Pete going), I
fed them the old feed and just gave them the new feed as a snack, They
ate the new feed! The 4th day I just gave them the new and they were
fine with it.
Had to do the same thing with scraps. Nice and slow and work them into it.
And don't feel bad, I have only been doing this a year and there harder
to raise than children.
