Ok... maybe not with ham... but I DID find my very first green egg two days ago!! and another one today!! They are TINY (we're talking like HALF the size of normal "large" white eggs) but they are GREEN!! So excited!!
I've also been getting AT LEAST two eggs a day from my girls (2 are over a year, 2 are like 3 months and 6 are about 7-8 months). Every couple days I get THREE eggs!! I know I've got at least four girls laying though 'cause I got 3 brown eggs in one day and then the green egg.... I THINK there are 4-5 different hens laying though 'cause some of them seem to have different colors (brown-brown, light brown, dark brown, pink-brown (yes, PINKish-brown!), very light (creamish) brown) and there are definitely different sizes, I got a double yoker about a week ago too!!
So I'm kind of excited, I don't even have lights on them (they do have a window that gets direct morning sun though) and I'm still getting 2-3 eggs a day from at least 4 chickens!! I keep telling the 2 oldest girls that I'm gonna separate them and see who's holding out on me though 'cause I got a blue egg and a brown egg the first day I had the two of them and haven't seen a blue egg since!
Anyways, just my (kind of) exciting news!! Still have to figure out what to do with my three extra roosters though, they are all locked out of the stall where the girls and their two beau's are and they are quite the bachelor gang. I don't really mind keeping them around I suppose, at least for a little while. One's gonna have to go, a hen got loose yesterday and when I caught her and she fussed the rooster came over and attacked my leg. I've got 5 roosters, I don't need one with a screw loose!! Just gotta find time to make him dog food....
