Re: [CHICKENS-101] Treats/feed question

We feed our chickens food from a local mill. For treats they get scratch, sweet feed, bread (Preferably whole grain. It comes from the day old bread store and they never have the same thing twice.), watermelon, extra produce from the garden, and anything they care to dig out of the compost bin. The dog gets the meat scraps. Angelique

What do you feed your chickens? Not only their main feed, but table scraps? bread? What DON'T you feed them?

I see some folks feed meat or other poultry to their birds... I can't wrap my head around that, but then I'm pretty close to vegetarian with my "Shelley's Rules of Meat" which my family and friends just shake their heads at with a smile. ;o)
