Stuart, I treat chicks, at hatch, for mycoplasmas whether I know if they have it or not. I hatch eggs from chickens other than my own and do not mess around with taking chances.  I have a program worked out so if they did have it when they hatched, they test clear by/bbefore 3-4 months after being off all meds for 3 weeks. By next spring I plan on having enough laying hens to not bring in eggs
either.
