Georgia is 100% correct ..... chasing any domestic animal is very stressful and can cause harm to the critter and the child. If my boys want to hold a bird I tell them to sit down .... offer treats and wait for the bird to come to them. 99% of the time this works and they build a relationship with the chickens and other animals.
