A farmer once told me hang bars of soap from your fruit trees it deters the deer. Worth a shot I guess can't hurt

We are over run with deer chomping on the fruit trees, gardens, berries, and flowers. I count on my extra fruit, garden surplus, berries, and the crops I plant, for my chickens. These are city deer, not afraid of people, and are fed by neighbors. Any idea on how to get rid of them so the deer stay in the neighbor's yards instead of my pastures and orchard?Cathryn rainbowsilkiesTM in Michigan
