Re: [CHICKENS-101] Over run with deer

Cathryn,
I have seen this idea work in a land overrun by deer. It is a mid high fence and another hot wire about 2 ft out from the fence. The deer will not jump the distance and they can't jump straight up if they did get under the hot wire fence. It is possible if the hot wire is not hot that it will still work. But make sure that they can't come in from the gate area.

We are over run with deer chomping on the fruit trees, gardens, berries, and flowers.  I count on my extra fruit, garden surplus, berries, and the crops I plant,  for my chickens.  These are city deer, not afraid of people, and are fed by neighbors. Any idea on how to get rid of them so the deer stay in the neighbor's yards instead of my pastures and orchard?
